Hi, I’m Sanditi - the artist and calligrapher behind Callikala, a modern calligraphy and design studio based in Philadelphia. I live here with my husband and our two huskies, Storm and Logan, who keep things lively and fun.
My love for calligraphy comes from a lifelong love of writing. As a kid, I genuinely enjoyed homework that involved writing (yes, really). In 2020, during the COVID lockdown, I picked up my first brush pen on a random evening - and that moment changed everything. Since then, calligraphy has become both a creative outlet and a growing practice, supported by an ever-expanding collection of brush pens, nibs, inks, and shimmer paints.
When I’m not working on lettering, you’ll usually find me listening to music or an audiobook (I love audiobooks), traveling, playing board games, spending time with my dogs, or unwinding with a show (often a K-drama) - often with chips close by.
